Game Management and Regulations
This topic is an evident issue within the area and throughout the state. Game regulations are placed on several species with different limits and dates of when hunting season begins and ends. The variations within the several game zones in South Carolina are due to the size of the game population and when mating seasons begin and end due to the seasonal transition. The period of rest between seasons is set to allow the species to repopulate to a level that sets the limits on the next season based on the number of species that resides in that area. The practice of illegally hunting game during the off-season can endanger the species and even push it towards the brink of extinction if they are being massively killed off during their reproduction season. The absence of a species in a habitat can greatly alter it and cause several different effects.
This topic interests me due to my engagement in hunting and fishing throughout the state. The activities of such poachers who consistently violate these laws not only affect the species, but everything else that this species interacts with on a daily basis. The endangerment of a species is an endangerment on its habitat and everything that has some form of reliance on it. My argument in this paper would be to support the conservation of species and their habitats by demonstrating the effect on the surrounding environment when a species is being removed from it.
Religious Influences Invasion of Traditional Practices in the U.S.A.
The U.S. practices a policy of religious freedom in which a state religion is not set in place. This freedom allows multiple religions to be practiced within the nation, although the nation was founded upon Christian values. The foundation of the U.S. was due to the revolutionary war in which colonists fought to gain their freedom from Great Britain after previously fleeing Europe to escape religious persecution. The basis of the early nation’s government and foundation was based upon religious practices and values. In today’s time the once thought to be a “Christian nation” has allowed multiple religions to push their way into dominate positions in society. These religions set to reframe society to fit their religious practices as they feel Christianity offends their religions and therefore must be silenced. For centuries Christianity has been a target for oppression throughout the world, but only recently has foreign religions gained such dominance to attempt great restraints in silencing the “Christian nation”.
This topic is an interest to me as I am a Christian who sees such actions within our free nation as act of purging. I simply want to question other religions’ arguments for allowing them to have such strong demands when their home country does not acknowledge such rights and have been known to enact in persecuting non-believers of their religion. My argument would be to question the extension of the freedom of religion in which many religions seek to rewrite the laws and practices of the U.S. to fit their foreign practices. The question is on what grounds should they receive such forceful requests? My paper would reflect upon the multiple events that have occurred within politics as many policies have been either changed or altered to satisfy another religion that found these U.S. policies offensive.
