The reading from Envision in Depth can be helpful towards our multimodal project in several ways, as it has many pointers in constructing a successful project. One of the biggest things that affects the majority of the project is the setup of our project’s website. The website must be simply perfect, in accurately portraying the subject and purpose behind our project. Therefore the imagery and variation of text on each page should coincide with one another and be easy to read. The balance between the amount of imagery and words also needs to be taken into consideration as an overload of either one can have a negative effect on the viewer.
The website should not only be clear in its message, but also easy to navigate. The separate pages of the website should be very clear in their direction towards the project, along with the relevance to the rest of the composition. The home page should be the base and central focus of the site, in directing the viewer to the rest of the pages of the site and revealing the entirety of the project. The bio page of the site should also include relevant information and pictures, in accurately complimenting the rest of the composition of the site and project.
The voice of the project is very important in showing the interest driven project and the purpose behind it. Therefore the voice and attitude of the project should be clearly seen in the word choice, text, and colors on the site. Failure to show interest, positive energy, or an active voice will result in a boring site and display of the project. The dullness of the site will linger in the air as a reader views the site and will not result with positive feedback, as viewers want to see a site filled with a balanced feel of relaxation and exhilaration along with an active voice that holds a persuasive pull in convincing the reader to dwell deeper into the site.
The overall revelation of the reading towards the multimodal project is to provide helpful hints to design a website and the project that effectively balances text and imagery in creating a persuasive argument that is successful in meeting its purpose. The creation of a project is the easy part. It’s the presentation that can be complicated. An effective presentation can make a terrible idea appear perfect, as long as its composition and balance support the argument being proposed.
